How language shapes the way we think

by Veronika

Charlemagne once said “To have another language is to possess a second soul.” — a somewhat true statement if we consider how each language shapes our thinking in a different way!

Lera Boroditsky is a cognitive scientist and professor at the University of California, San Diego. She conducts research in the area of language and cognition. Not only is she a highly decorated and respected researcher, but she also gives popular science talks about her work. Her TED talk How language shapes the way we think has been viewed by nearly 7.5 million people! It’s very informative and funny! Have a look!
