This may seem blatantly obvious, but I think it is very important! Creating a fun and playful atmosphere helps children develop a positive relationship with a language. So language can be used when engaging kids in fun activities. Also, it can be fun to play with language–being silly and creative. If it is fun and simply ‘feels good’ to use the minority language, kids are more inclined to interact in that language.
